The Scouting Program

Through scouting, Scouts learn outdoor skills, assume leadership roles, help to improve their community through service projects, and experience new adventures as they advance through the Scout ranks of Tenderfoot, Second Class, First Class, Star, Life... and hopefully Eagle.

Our troop is operated on a Scout Led/Scout Run philosophy, which means that the Scouts take responsibility for Troop programs, conduct meetings, and plan activities and outings.

Scouts are assisted by the Scoutmaster, Assistant Scoutmasters (trained adult leaders), and parents, who all offer guidance, teach skills, and provide merit badge counseling.

Parents are themselves organized through the Troop's Parent Committee and Assistant Scoutmasters, who meet regularly to provide the structure and program support to make it all work.

NEW THIS YEAR

Troop 319 is participating in a combined troop pilot program.

There is no change to the fun, just the leadership.

Campouts & Treks

Troop 319 plans regular campouts. Campouts/Treks have included canoeing around San Diego's Fiesta Island, annual Camporees, and lots more.

Each summer Troop 319 participates in a fun-filled, week-long summer camp program at a different location from year-to-year. Summer camps provide a great opportunity for scouts not only to enjoy the Scout Camp experience, but also help them earn a wide range of merit badges, and offer assistance with rank advancement requirements.

Scout Meetings and Activities

Troop meetings are an enjoyable weekly gathering where scouts meet to participate in team-building games, practice scout skills, work on advancement or merit badge requirements, and/or other activities of interest to our scouts.

Also during meetings, the troop plans regular outings, including camping, hiking, and backpacking trips, annual events like camporees and scout fairs, and activities such as swimming, canoeing, rock climbing, star gazing, cook-offs, and community service projects.

Donations Help!

Donations help support our scout program and are always welcome and very much appreciated.

Monetary donations can be designated for a specific purpose, such as for equipment and supplies, for an Eagle Scout Project for a particular Scout, for a "Campership" that will help send a scout to summer camp, etc.

Or you can provide outdoor equipment for basic troop activities.
